Abierto (apertura) de ajedrez
En ajedrez se denomina apertura a la fase inicial del juego, en la que se procede a desarrollar las piezas desde sus posiciones iniciales. Las tres fases de una partida de ajedrez son apertura, medio juego y final.
En la actualidad la apertura está ampliamente estudiada (en algunos casos hasta la jugada 20 o más), hasta el punto de que en muchas partidas los primeros movimientos se realizan de forma automática de acuerdo con la teoría de aperturas establecida. Una fuente fundamental de esta teoría de aperturas es, por ejemplo, la enciclopedia de aperturas de ajedrez, más conocida por su acrónimo ECO.
