In What Application is Inconel 625 Used? (2015-10-21)
Inconel 625 is a nickel chromium alloy and is used because of its corrosion and oxidation resistant, high strength and fabricability properties. Since the alloy is greatly resistant to corrosion, heat and pressure, it is used in the power industry, aerospace, marine industries, pollution control, nuclear reactors, furnace hardware and chemical processing components.
Inconel is also known as a special alloy as they are resistant to oxidation and can maintain their structure even at high temperature. One can find many different Inconel alloys being used in various applications, but Inconel 625 comes at the top.
Inconel 625 can be easily welded using both manual and automatic welding methods making them very versatile.
