black or white

white is simply better here....black cant hold much longer.

white is simply better here

i'm not too sure about that! black has a nice bishop's pair and white has a decisively week c3 pawn, and possibly b4 as well. i would Qc7 where if white moves their knight Qxc3 follows; if Rc1 instead, black can simply move their Queen to safety....say Qb7, and can at least draw imho

just run a decent engine on it ..

for 12 hours or so, and be done with it - this one is not the sort of positin that foxes engines :)

maybe my last post was at cross-purpo

it looks as though the 'problems' section is for positions for humans to evaluate ... if that is the case please consider my prev post unposted :)

weak player's questions

This position seems to have a few prominent features:
1. The black Queen has to move.
2. The white c-Pawn is weak.
3. There might be a fork from c3 on the two Rooks.
4. There is an open d file.
So, I think that White absolutely wants to move his a-Rook to either c1 or d1. If Black moves his Queen to the d file, White will get Rd1 in "Vorhand" (what's that in english?). Will the place the Queen finally gets to be good enough as a compensation?
Moving the Queen to c7, while keeping pressure on the c Pawn, seems to put the Queen in the sights of the Bishop/Queen gun in the lower right. However, White can't move his Knight right now. How would White prepare a Knight's move now? Certainly with Rc1. So he still gets his Vorhand move, and Rc1 might even be better than Rd1.
So, what about ..Qb5?
