Surat Diamonds

Surat is famous for Surat Diamods, Surat Sarees, Chemicals and Silk. Surat is worlds largest diamond cutting and polishing industry. 8 out of 10 diamonds of the world are polished and re export to the world.
It is an interesting things that Surat does not produce any diamond itself. Surat Diamonds are imported from different parts of the world and polished and cut here. Once complete they export to the world.
Surat Saree is famous in whole India and abroad. Surat has neeb a major exporter of saree to Bangaldesh 1 out of 5 Sarees of India is manufactured in Surat.
There are several chemical factories here which not only caters to need of local business but large part of chemicals are exported to the world.
