Although the outcome is typical, most Suzani designs possess the same structural plan; an inner field encircled by frames on all four sides. This method has an extensive tradition in the Central Asian arts, and also Islamic art. The finest Suzani pieces on velvet pillow covers are truly nice-looking, with brilliant design, outstanding materials, and superior craftsmanship. If you deal almost exclusively in antique textiles, you'd be incapable of resisting these attractive embroideries.
