Back to forum Thibault de Vassal (2016-02-11) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 Chess engines keep going, what do you think about the most recent ones? Do you prefer Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.3 and why? Both engines reach about 3340 on the CEGT rating list, this definitely looks like stratosferic levels compared to the old Fritz, Rybka, Junior & so on :) Garvin Gray (2016-02-12 01:22:43) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 And how is Fritz 15 going in comparison as well? George Jempty (2016-02-12 06:14:07) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 I use Komodo 9.3 until I get to an ending, then I switch to Stockfish7. Don't know about the others, the only other I would consider is Houdini4, though probably not for correspondence but rather "quick" (30 seconds/move) analysis of complete games, as its supposed to be particularly good at blitz and therefore quickly finding tactics Ilmars Cirulis (2016-02-12 13:40:00) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 Only Stockfish, because it's free and open source. :) Tano-Urayoan Russi Roman (2016-02-13 06:51:03) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 Use both Jan Ohlin (2016-02-16 08:57:27) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 Still trying to think independently and with critisism because I see what weaknesses chess programs has. The difficulty lies in providing energy for my brain to do that damn shit work when there are so powerful engines... Scott Nichols (2016-02-16 14:45:49) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 Still use Rybka with some help from SF. Thibault de Vassal (2016-03-06 23:30:33) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 Really? I thought Rybka was completely outplayed by her rivals now ^^ Tano-Urayoan Russi Roman (2016-03-08 03:34:34) Stockfish 7, Komodo 9.2 or 9.3 It is Thibault even Houdini feels old this days.
