Problem addslashes() does not work

Hi,

Here is my problem, sometimes I have to addslashes() a long string, and it seems it does not always work as my INSERT request in my MySQL database returns an error, that's a very rare case but it does happen.

Does anyone have an idea about the problem ?  In my tests in the string to insert I cannot see a ' or " (quotes) without \ before but it still does not work.

It is a real problem as addslashes() helps to protect my SQL server. Help!!
