How to install Curl

Hi,

I'd like to install Curl for PHP on a Linux Redhat server. I've found the file to download at http://curl.haxx.se/download.html but I don't know to install it.

I found this code :

http://curl.haxx.se

wget http://curl.haxx.se/download/curl-7.16.0.tar.gz
tar -pxzf curl-7.16.0.tar.gz
cd curl-7.16.0
./configure --with-ssl
make
make install
ldconfig -v


Then use --with-curl in PHP's configure

But is it necessary to recompile php ?  How does it work exactly ?

Php.ini

Looks like the real question is : How To Enable CURL Extension In Php.ini File ?

Answer : pico /usr/local/lib/php.ini
then... CTRL W , search curl and activate extension.

But it still does not work. I'll probably have to recompile PHP
