FICGS Android APP beta version

Finally... finally, FICGS Android applications are here:

Basically, the 4 versions are quite the same: only the name & icon change.

I tested it in many ways and it looks like it works fine and display seems ok, so feel free to try it, any feedback would be much appreciated!

I will publish it in APP stores soon, let's hope it will help to attract many new players (most probably Go players & chess players without engines IMO) and bring back a few ones :)

I still have to find a way to do it properly, but I started to look at it ;)

All FICGS apps are now in the Google Play Store... if you have an Android phone, just click Play Store, then search FICGS and install the app with your favourite icon, you're done.

The apps are now a bit different from each other:

- The Go app allows to easily replay the best games played at FICGS when there's no game to play (or when logged as guest)

- The other apps allow to play against a chess program (not too bad) when there's no game to play (or when logged as guest)

Hope it brings some more fun... To be continued.

I find that I have to frequently login to the site both via the browser and via your new app. Am I the only one who experiences this? This site should not require logins via the app.

Yes, of course that's just an option according to the way one want to play games. Nothing is required here :)

I dont understand, where do I set that option to stay logged into the app and not need to constantly log in? I don't see it as an option under 'my account'

Did you check the box under your username/password when you login? Or maybe cookies are not activated?

Hi
Yes the "remember me" is checked, and the username/password is filled in, however I still have to press login. Other apps can skip this step if the credentials are already filled in.

Also would love to set the first scree to be the "my games" screen by default, instead of the home page.

Lastely you have to scroll to the bottom of the page to find links to the forum, and other pages. can you add navigation at the top of the page?

That's not what the app is supposed to do... it should be the "My games" pages actually. Is the login page's background blue or grey?

Navigation at the top may be a good idea, I'll try this (but I can't add the whole menu there, it would take too much place IMO, it wouldn't be easy to "click" with fingers on tactile screens).

Well, unfortunately I was not able to follow Zack's suggestion. Let's hope everyone will find the menu at the bottom.
