Using a bluetooth device stitched into his cap to receive external computer assistance. Source - http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3573 A new danger for OTB chess... Could suspicion (like Topalov-Kramnik match) kill the game ? Dinesh De Silva (2006-12-28 14:04:04) Re: There'll obviously be sound detectors, metal detectors etc. in major chess tournaments in the near future to catch cheaters. So, I think that though the bluetooth case is a setback to the integrity of the sport right now, such cases can be detected successfully most of the time. Thibault de Vassal (2006-12-28 14:35:56) Re: I agree... But suspicion will increase anyway :/ I hope new technologies couldn't create undetectable tools in a near future. Don Groves (2006-12-29 04:47:56) Cheating Chess tournament organizers need only to contact casino owners who have been dealing with these problems for a long time and likely are experts at detecting all forms of cheating.
